The Brussels International Center (BIC) is seeking a Webflow expert consultant to help our team take better ownership of our website: fixing outstanding issues, tightening up the site's structure and performance, and training BIC staff to confidently handle day-to-day edits and small fixes without outside help going forward.
About BIC
The Brussels International Center is an independent think tank producing research, events, and advocacy on peace, security, and human rights, with a focus on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and the EU's role in the region. Our website (bic-rhr.com) is our primary public-facing platform for publications, events, news, and video/podcast content, and is built on Webflow.
Background & Why We're Looking for Help
Our site has grown over several years and content has been added by multiple staff members with varying levels of Webflow experience. As a result, we have accumulated small inconsistencies and issues, outdated or mis-scheduled content, layout quirks, and CMS structures that aren't being used efficiently. No one on staff currently has strong Webflow expertise, so small issues tend to pile up rather than get fixed quickly.
Scope of Work
We are looking for a consultant who can combine hands-on fixes with practical training. Rough scope includes:
- Site audit: review current Webflow site structure, CMS collections, page templates, and identify technical or design issues (broken layouts, outdated or incorrectly dated content, slow-loading assets, inconsistent styling, navigation/UX issues).
- Fix a defined set of priority issues identified in the audit (in scope to be agreed jointly with BIC staff before work begins).
- Clean up and organize CMS collections (e.g. Research, Events, News, Projects) so future content entry is simpler and more consistent.
- Light performance and SEO review: image optimization, page speed, meta data best practices.
- Deliver hands-on training sessions for BIC staff covering: editing existing pages, adding new CMS entries (publications, events, news), managing images/media, basic layout adjustments within existing components, and how to avoid common mistakes.
- Produce a short internal reference guide / cheat sheet BIC staff can use after the engagement ends.
- Be available for a limited period of follow-up questions after training concludes (e.g. 2–4 weeks).
Deliverables
- Written audit summarizing issues found and recommended fixes, with priorities.
- Implemented fixes for the agreed priority list.
- 1–2 live training sessions (remote or in-person in Brussels) for relevant staff, recorded if remote.
- Written how-to guide / documentation tailored to BIC's site.
Ideal Candidate
- Demonstrated expertise with Webflow (portfolio or examples of past client sites, especially nonprofit/NGO/media/think-tank sites a plus).
- Comfortable working with a non-technical team and explaining things in plain language.
- Experience training or coaching staff, not just doing the work themselves.
- Good understanding of basic web performance, accessibility, and SEO practices within Webflow.
- Able to work within a modest nonprofit budget and timeline.
Timeline & Budget
We are aiming to begin this engagement in September 2026 and complete the initial audit, fixes, and training within 6 weeks. Please propose a timeline and a fee (flat project fee or hourly rate, whichever you prefer to quote) based on the scope above. We are open to adjusting scope to fit budget.
How to Apply
Interested consultants should send the following to brandon.locke@bic-rhr.com
- A brief note on relevant Webflow experience, with 2–3 example sites you've built or maintained.
- A short proposed approach for the audit, fixes, and training described above.
- Your estimated fee and availability.
Application deadline: 20 September. We will follow up with shortlisted candidates for a short call.
