About Xcelerator Dental
Xcelerator Dental (XD) is a fast-growing dental marketing agency focused on simplifying the path to growth for dental practices. We take the stress of marketing away so practice owners can focus on delivering exceptional patient care.
Our websites are a core part of that mission. We design and build award-winning websites using our in-house XD methodology, delivered primarily in Webflow, with supporting projects in WordPress.
As we continue to scale, we are expanding our development team. You will work closely with our Lead Developer, Carl, supporting day-to-day development, maintenance, improvements, and new builds across our client portfolio.
Role overview
This role is focused on Webflow first, WordPress second.
You will be responsible for building landing pages, implementing design updates, maintaining existing sites, improving performance, fixing issues, and ensuring every website adheres to XD's internal systems for structure, accessibility, conversion, and usability.
You do not need to be a full-stack developer, but you must be confident working with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, basic JavaScript) and comfortable extending platforms when required, while respecting existing systems and methodologies.
This role suits someone who is technical, diligent, independent, and methodical, and who takes pride in clean, reliable work.
Key responsibilities
Webflow development (primary)
- Maintain, update, and optimise existing Webflow sites following XD's methodology, class naming conventions, and component systems
- Build and roll out landing pages using reusable components and clean structure
- Implement layout changes, content updates, accessibility fixes, and performance improvements
- Structure projects using best practices for global styles, symbols, components, CMS collections, and page hierarchy
- Build interactions and animations using Webflow's native Interactions panel
- Manage Webflow CMS collections, templates, filters, and conditional visibility
- Ensure sites are fully responsive across mobile, tablet, and desktop
- Manage publishing workflows and on-page SEO settings
- Implement and adjust custom code embeds (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) where required
WordPress development (secondary)
- Maintain and update WordPress websites, including content changes, layout updates, and plugin troubleshooting
- Build or update templates using page builders such as Elementor, Divi, Gutenberg, or similar
- Assist with client handovers and inherited WordPress builds
- Implement theme changes, plugin configuration, and light PHP tweaks where required
- Ensure sites are secure, backed up, and running efficiently
- Work with designers to translate XD mockups into responsive WordPress layouts
Technical skills & experience
Essential
- Minimum 2 years' hands-on Webflow experience in a production environment
- Solid understanding of WordPress, including themes, plugins, and page builders
- Strong knowledge of HTML and CSS, with the ability to modify or write basic JavaScript when needed
- Confident working within existing builds without breaking structure or functionality
- Strong understanding of responsive design, browser behaviour, and layout systems
- Experience optimising sites for performance, Core Web Vitals, accessibility, and SEO
- Confident using Google PageSpeed Insights and implementing improvements
- Ability to QA your own work thoroughly and spot issues beyond the task brief
- Strong communication skills and fluent English
- Comfortable working independently without being spoon-fed
- Able to manage multiple tasks across multiple websites
- Uses AI tools to accelerate development while maintaining quality and oversight
Desirable
- Experience with Lottie, Rive, After Effects, or GSAP
- Familiarity with PHP for WordPress theme tweaks
- Understanding of Figma for reviewing and interpreting designs
- Knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and semantic markup
- Experience working in an agency or multi-site environment
How we work
You will work closely with Carl, our Lead Developer, and collaborate with designers, marketing, and client success teams. You will follow XD's internal processes for documentation, versioning, and handover, and support troubleshooting on live sites when issues occur.
Clear communication is essential, especially when tasks are ambiguous or feedback comes from non-developers. We value developers who notice issues beyond the brief and leave things better than they found them.
Who this role is perfect for
This role is ideal for someone who loves building and maintaining clean, high-performing websites, takes pride in structure and detail, thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving technical challenges, and wants to grow their skills in Webflow and modern front-end development.
